It’s time for all the Teddies to pack up a picnic and bring their children to Sligo Folk Park for the Teddy Bear Picnic. Riverstown will be the Teddy capital of the northwest on Thursday 28th July as mini picnickers and their furry friends have Teddy-themed crafts, fun and games of all sorts. Participants can bring their own picnics and the event runs from 11am-1pm and 2pm-4pm.
The giant Teddy Bear greets everyone on arrival and just loves getting into selfies too. From that moment on, it’s a day filled with action and activity, all Teddy-themed of course. Make a Teddy name badge and your very own Teddy headband. Do some Teddy colouring and decorate a Teddy biscuit or two. Everyone, young and old will love feeding the hens and meeting our new arrivals JP the goat and our giant Flemish rabbits. There will be story telling as well as face painting and games. You can also learn about the history of the Teddy Bear.
Activities are spread around the 6-acre site, some indoors and some outside. The Fairy Village will also be open to welcome little visitors (and Teddies too of course).
If your favourite Teddy is feeling under the weather, don’t despair – the Teddy Bears Hospital will be open. Soon he’ll be well enough to join in the Treasure Hunt where everyone follows the fun clues to claim their goodie bag.
Booking for the Sligo Folk Park Teddy Bear Picnic is necessary and can be done through our website. Admission to the event is €10 per child/ Adults €5. Participants bring their own picnics and the Millstone Café will also be open onsite for delicious treats and refreshments.
